Meredith Bonte, has her Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education (Cum Laude) and taught for 10 years before resigning to stay at home with her son.

During this time she did a sign language course through SLED (Sign Language Education Development) and taught her first son Anthony sign language signs. This allowed him to communicate with her from an early age and led to the development of the SIGNsational KIDS Institute.

Meredith pioneered the use of signing with hearing children in South Africa. She started holding parent workshops in 2003 and then qualified as the first Sign2Me Presenter in South Africa. As a result of her expertise and knowledge, parents around the country enjoy a rich, fulfilling relationship with their children, enhanced by their ability to effectively communicate.

Meredith is also the first South African to introduce South African Sign Language into Childcare Centres around the country. This initiative has resulted in reduced incidences of biting; has enhanced the quality of learning and improved social relationships within these childcare settings.
